Claim the Max project provides benefit advice sessions at various centres in Tower Hamlets.

You can get:

• full, free and confidential benefits and tax credits checks
• help with making claims – including form filling
• help with your benefit and tax credit queries and problems

Check your benefits and tax credits entitlements

Each year millions of pounds of benefits and tax credits go unclaimed. We want to make sure that Tower Hamlets residents are claiming all their entitlements.

You may be able to claim:

• Attendance Allowance if you are 65 or over and you have a disability or health problem;
• Disability Living Allowance if you are under 65 and you have a disability or health problem;
• Carer’s allowance if you are looking after someone who has claimed
  attendance allowance or disability allowance (middle rate or high rate care component);
• Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (if you are under 60)
• Pension Credit (if you are 60 or over) and you live on a low income or have no income;
• Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit if you pay rent and council tax and you live on a low income;
• Child Tax Credit if you have children;
• Working Tax Credit if you are working and;
  - have children and are low paid; or
  - you are a disabled person in low paid work; or
  - you are over 25 with no children and in low paid work for over 30 hours per week.
