Corporate Match Funding Programme 2008/09

The Council’s Corporate Match Funding (CMF) programme for 2008-09 is now open for applications.

The commissioning process will be administered within a very tight timeframe thus enabling projects to commence as soon as possible after the start of the financial year – April 2008. This is clearly very beneficial both to currently funded projects: ensuring their continuity, as well as for new projects as it will enable them to maximise activities and spend with the potential for a full-year's operation.

The outline timetable together with summary criteria is set out below.

Outline Timetable

  • 15 October 2007 – application/commissioning documents available
  • 7 & 8 November 2007 – commissioning workshops:
    • (1) 9:30 am - 1:00 pm Wednesday, 7 November 07 at the London Muslim Centre, Seminar Room – 4th Floor, 46 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1JX
    • (2) 9:30 am - 1:00 pm Thursday, 8 November 07 at the London Muslim Centre, Seminar Room – 4th Floor, 46 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1JX
  • 12 noon, 21 December 2007 – deadline for receipt of completed applications
  • W/C 10 March 2008 – applicants advised of outcome of appraisals
  • 18 March 2008 - Grants Panel meeting
  • 19 March 2008 – project awards confirmed (subject to call in)
  • 1 April 2008 - projects able to commence

Summary Criteria

  • Co-financing (to provide 'match) for external funded programmes that meet the Local Authority’s employment and enterprise targets
  • Assistance to third sector organisations, supporting them to
    • capacity build to be in a competitive position to attract external funding
    • develop partnerships and collaborative contracts to deliver services
    • maintain effective and efficient employment and business support services
    • deal with short term cash flow issue

The commissioning workshops are extremely important as they will give attendees a thorough understanding of the application and appraisal process and thus giving a much improved chance of developing a robust project bid.
