Community legal services partnership
Tower Hamlets community legal services partnership (CLSP):
- aims to ensure that everyone in the borough has access to appropriate, high-quality information and advice about the law and legal services
- encourages public, private and voluntary sector organisations to work together
- evaluates the range, quality and accessibility of existing services
- develops uniform standards for legal advice and referrals
- plan the development and funding of future services to address the needs of the local community.
Members of the partnership include representatives from the Legal Services Commission, local advice agencies, voluntary sector organisations, solicitors firms, trading standards, statutory and non-statutory funders.
A steering group directs the affairs of the partnership. The steering group has:
- mapped legal advice and information provision in Tower Hamlets
- developed a strategic plan and consulted on this amongst advice providers
- Developed an advice providers forum and a directory of advice providers in Tower Hamlets

Community legal services quality mark
The community legal services quality mark is the nationally recognised standard for legal information and help in the areas of welfare rights, housing, money advice, consumer and general contract, mental health, immigration, employment and so on. When you see an organisation that displays the logo, you know that organisation meets certain quality standards.
We encourage all advice providers in Tower Hamlets to apply for the community legal services quality mark.
