Matts Gallery
Matt's Gallery is a non-profit gallery in Mile End. It has supported artists to make risk-taking new work since 1979.
Recent highlights of the programme include exhibitions by Jimmie Durham and Mike Nelson in 2006 and Willie Doherty and Susan Hiller in 2008.

Museum of London
Although the Museum of London is not in Tower Hamlets, it is in the East End of London, just five minutes from Tower Hamlets by tube.
With a collection of more than a million objects, the Museum of London is the world’s largest urban history museum. The permanent galleries tell the story of London from prehistoric times to the present day. The varied displays range from archaeological finds to contemporary photographs, small everyday objects to vehicles and room reconstruction.
