April
Festival of Earth held in the Children’s play park. Den building, clay pot making and a mud café. For children 4 to 11 years old.

Creepy Crawly Week usually May half term –a series of nature-based activity including a spider safari
June
Love Parks Week 14th –22nd June National celebration of parks
14th June 11.00am Walk to launch the event, route to be agreed but it will be through the park and will end in the Children’s Play Park. This will fit in with similar walks taking place in all the core cities at the same time to maximise publicity.
21st and 22nd June – the Big Land Draw in the Art Park will create a 25m-x25m Dragonfly on the ground using natural materials such as rice, lentils, soil, grass etc. Children and their families make their own patterns and drawings within the outline of the dragonfly.
July
“Park Life” A fair that is a mixture of crafts, music, dog show, small scale fairground rides and the Farmer’s Market. Produced in partnership with the Friends of MEP
August
All the fun of the big top a circus themed afternoon in the Play Park
To coincide with National Play Week 4th –9th of August an afternoon of circus skills juggling, stilts, face painting etc
Water Festival – details to be contrived but will include water bombs and the fountains

St Barnabas Bowstock in Wennington Green 7th September

The Park After Dark is a 30 minute guided tour through a spooky maze and out in the park where ghost stories are told and monsters jump out when you least expect it. Aimed at the 7- 11 age group (but it is based on the London dungeon so depends on how sensitive the child is as to)
Teeny Halloweeny celebrates Halloween in a party atmosphere targeting the under 7,s and children with learning difficulties- apple bobbing, witches telling stories, face painting and music 1.00pm to 5.00pm
November
Wind Festival – Kite making and Kite flying possibly demo kite flying in the children’s play park and on the art mound tbc
December.
Christmas themed event drawing in other religion’s in a celebration of December.
