The People Show Studios opened in 1986 and has been a vibrant hub of creative activity for East London ever since. Toynbee Hall is a Grade II listed building situated in East London. It has two rooms of particular note.
Its lecture hall was an important venue for East Londoners, who came to hear a range of lectures and events, including Marconi's 1896 demonstration of wireless technology. The dining room was decorated by CR Ashbee who formed his Guild of Handicraft in 1888 at Toynbee Hall. The room is decorated in the Arts and Crafts style.
