Schools ICT recycling service
Schools have accumulated redundant ICT equipment that can no longer be used due to the limited functionality and the requirements of today’s software applications. The Schools Technical Advisory Support Service (STASS) has recognised this and has negotiated a sub contract with Tower Hamlets corporate recycling partner DataServ-CES to safely remove old ICT equipment from schools in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.
Dataserv-CES Limited has been a long standing recycle partner for Tower Hamlets and is committed to achieving the highest environmental standards throughout the UK, and is a member of ICER, the Industry Council for Electronic Equipment recycling. Dataserv-CES is certified to BE EN ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
This service guarantees all schools ICT equipment is collected and recycled or safely disposed of as per WEEE directive. All data contained on hard drives will be wiped using Blancco Data Cleaner ensuring any sensitive data is destroyed. To ensure equipment is recycled within the WEEE regulations small charges are levied against redundant equipment.
