Homeless arrears team
The Arrears Team manage the rent accounts of all clients in Temporary Accommodation apart from those who are living in properties supplied by Housing Associations. Housing Associations have their own rent arrears teams.
The main duties of the Homeless Arrears Team are:
- Prevention of rent arrears
- Monitoring of rent accounts
- Recovery of arrears from clients
- Advising clients on benefits and income maximisation
- Referring clients to the Money Advice Service
- Taking legal action, rent arrears leads to eviction
