Designated properties and schemes for the over 50s

Every week we advertise homes that have been designated for people who are over 50. This is because we recognise that some people who are over 50 may have more difficulty than younger people in finding suitable housing.

Sheltered housing schemes

In addition, if you are over 60, every week we advertise sheltered housing schemes specially designed for the over 60s. These are not residential care or care homes.

Sheltered housing may be just what you’re looking for if:

• you are over 60
• you want the independence of your own home
• you would like to know that there was help available if you need it
• you would like to live in a block with people of a similar age
• you would like access to communal facilities & events.

Moving to the countryside or by the sea

New applications are now being processed for seaside and country homes. If you are interested in registering for the seaside and country homes scheme the main tenant in your household must be at least 60 years of age and live in social rented housing in Greater London.

The scheme offers opportunities to move to bungalows and flats throughout the south of England and Midlands.

LAWN mobility scheme

LAWN is a landlord referral scheme that aims to help households move from London to other parts of the UK. If you are interested in a LAWN move and wish to have more information on how to access the scheme then please contact 08450 21 20 20.

To be eligible for LAWN you must live in social housing in London. There is no age limit for applications to LAWN.
