Private sector - landlord improvement grants

Landlord improvement grants will only normally be available to:

• landlords who let property to tenants on ‘Rent Act registered’ rents, or
• landlords of houses in multiple occupation.

Landlords who let properties to Rent Act registered tenants will be eligible for a grant to bring the property up to the decent homes standard, and for works to make the home safe, secure and affordable to keep warm.

Landlords of houses in multiple occupation are only eligible for a grant for works to make the home fit to live in, safe, secure and affordable to keep warm (as specified by the Housing Act), for all the occupiers.
