Information for landlords about housing benefit
The information on these pages is intended as a general guide only - it does not cover every aspect of the housing benefit scheme. There are many factors that have to be taken into account when benefit entitlement is assessed, awarded and paid. For more specific information please contact your area benefits office.
Please remember the Council’s Benefits Service deals solely with a tenant’s entitlement to Housing Benefit. Rent that is due and payable under the terms of a tenancy is a matter between the landlord and the tenant. The tenant retains full liability for rent and for paying the landlord any sums owed during the course of the tenancy.
