Already using our service?

It’s our job to make sure that all the housing-related support services we fund are good quality, give value for money and try to meet your needs as much as possible.

We regularly contact people who have used housing support services funded by the supporting people scheme to find out what they think about the service they are receiving. Your views help us to find out which of the services we fund need improvement, and where we still have gaps in support needs that require attention.

During 2005 we will be giving people more opportunity to be involved in tailoring supporting people services, such as inviting users to participate in focus groups and forums. We will also seek people’s views as part of a programme of individual service reviews being carried out over the next year.

If you would like information about any forthcoming focus groups or meetings, please contact the supporting people team.

How to make a complaint about a service funded by supporting people

You deserve to receive a good quality support service . However, we accept that things can sometimes go wrong and you may want to make a complaint if you think that a service provider has:

  • Treated you or someone else badly
  • Not done something they should have done
  • Used its funding incorrectly.

You should first make a complaint to the organisation which provides your support – they are required to have a procedure to help you do this. If, after this, you:

  • Think that your complaint has not been dealt with properly; and/or
  • You think the matter is very serious;

You can contact the supporting people team and we may be able to follow it up for you.

Therefore if you feel that a service provider has not treated you fairly or politely, or you are unhappy with the service provided, you should complain directly to the service provider in the first instance.

You can also contact us if you are unsure about which organisation has provided your service. We will provide you with all the relevant contact details on how to get in touch with that service.
