Major works and improvements.

Major works are major repairs or improvements to your home or block. Major works schemes are the most extensive type of work carried out by the council.

Major works or improvements to housing are funded through the council's capital investment programme. They are usually beyond the scope of the normal local maintenance budget for smaller type repairs.

Examples of major works are:

• concrete repairs
• window or roof renewal
• installing door entry systems
• security works.

The major works consultation team carries out consultation with residents before any work commences.

Leaseholders are generally responsible for paying their share of the cost of the works.
