Professional Development Centre - Introduction

The PDC is based in an old English School in English Street in Tower Hamlets, near Mile End tube station.

The Professional Development Centre (PDC) provides a base for school-focused activities and training, where teachers and managers can meet regarding education-related matters both formally and informally. It also provides a working base for advisory teachers and consultants who work on the national strategies and standards funded projects.

The Heritage Library Collection and the Library Loans Service are also situated at the PDC. The Heritage Library Collection is an extremely valuable resource, and in conjunction with the Library Loans Service, provides teachers with a wide range of materials to use in their classes and schools.

A partnership with St Martin’s College of Lancaster, has brought accredited Continuing Professional Development and initial training for teachers onto the site. St Martin’s offer a range of courses, including BA QTS (Hons) Primary, PGCE Primary, GTP, and MOD FLEX.
