Professional librarian advice on wide range of library-related issues, including:

  • Drawing up a library development plan and library policy
  • Organising and updating your own school library
  • Training for library assistants
  • Installing a computer system
  • Selecting new resources
  • Using the library

Regular meetings for secondary school librarians and teachers with library responsibility in primary schools.

Inset at the PDC

Twice a term literacy resources forum at the PDC to discuss literacy themes and new resources.

Project loan request service

  • Available on payment of a small whole-school premium
  • Staff can post, fax or e-mail a request form for resources
  • Resources selected by the librarians and delivered to your school within seven days
  • See the list of subscribing schools and / or download a request form

Humanities education service

Opportunity to become involved in a wide range of development and global education projects which empower young people to challenge injustice whilst increasing their motivation and improving attitudes to learning.
