Extended schools service
Who is the service for?
Extended schools offer a range of services for pupils, their families and the wider community. The services are usually offered outside normal schools hours and might include childcare, study support, adult and life long learning, sports and arts, parenting support and health and social care services. Majority of the schools in Tower Hamlets offer some extended schools activities to their community.
What does the extended schools service do?
- Offer advice and support to schools in developing extended provision
- Plan and co-ordinate services across the borough
- Liaise with other agencies and develop new partnerships
- Monitoring and evaluation of extended schools services
- Manage and allocate funding to schools.
