Individual pupil school records

Individual school records are the history of a pupil's career at a given school.

This can cover the pupil’s academic achievement but also other information such as attendance records.

Much of this information at an individual pupil level will be subject to a general duty of confidentiality and in particular obligations arising from the Data Protection Act, or covered by child protection legislation, and so will not be available to members of the public.

In addition, parents/guardians and pupils trying to obtain personal information over the telephone may find themselves subject to checks on their identity. If this is the case they will therefore be asked to put their request in writing before any information is released.

However, for information relating to the school record of a particular pupil, and the type of information it contains, please contact the relevant school directly who will be able to provide further guidance.
