Home to school transport for children with special educational needs

What we do

• We provide transport for pupils with special educational needs to both day and residential schools in Tower Hamlets and elsewhere
• We provide transport for every day that children with special education needs have to attend school
• We advise parents/carers of their child’s transport arrangements (pick up and drop off times) before the journey starts
• We provide drivers and passenger assistants who have been ‘police checked’ to greet passengers politely and ensure that they travel in comfort and safety
• We provide transport that operates to scheduled times and arrives at the collection and drop off point at these times, subject to traffic conditions.

The council has published a brochure which covers the transport services available to children with special educational needs when travelling from home to school.
