Schools technical advisory support service
Tower Hamlets has replaced the Schools IT service with the Schools Technical Advisory Support Service (STASS). As a Becta enabled support authority, our aim is to provide a technical support service to schools based on the BECTA Framework for IT Support (FITS), which will ensure our support services become pro-active and customer focused. Where our overall outcome will be to better advise and assist with the use of ICT in schools to provide a positive experience for all learners.
STASS can offer the following services to schools:
- Single point of contact for advice and support on all technical aspects of ICT for administration and curriculum as outlined within the STASS service level agreement
- Full support for all mandatory Tower Hamlets systems in schools, i.e. learning tools, finance tools and management information systems
- Fully managed ICT service across administration and curriculum networks
- London Grid for Learning technologies, technical advice and support
- ICT technical consultancy services on implementing new or existing technology in schools
- Procurement services using Tower Hamlets approved suppliers
- Health Check service for networks and servers, including an analysis of how ICT is supported within schools which will contribute to the resources element of the Self Review Framework
- Consultancy and project management of integrating administration and curriculum networks into one network to provide whole school ICT
- Technology integration service, for integrating Windows and Apple networks
- Recycling services for all ICT and AVA equipment using Tower Hamlets approved supplier who comply with the WEEE directive
Operational Hours
- 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday during term time
- 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday out of term
