Mobile libraries

The mobile library visits sites all over Tower Hamlets, and probably comes to a location near you. Its services are intended for those who cannot reach one of the libraries or idea stores.

Mobile library goes green

The old mobile library, which has served communities across Tower Hamlets for many years has finally had its day. New emission regulations coming into force in London mean that the old vehicle had to cease operating on Saturday 19th January 2008.

A new greener vehicle, which is compliant with the new regulations, will be in service around Easter time as part of a new improved Ideas on Wheels service. The new mobile will have a wider range of stock and improved computer information services.

In the meantime, disabled users who are unable to visit a Store or library will be able to receive a home delivery service of library materials. For more information contact the Idea Store Access and Inclusion team on 020 7364 5091.
