Agrani youth project
The Agrani youth project organises youth activities and advice sessions on issues that affect young people like drugs, petty crime, violence and environmental issues. It also helps young people with CVs and application forms and acts as a job broker. For more information, please call:

Avenues unlimited (old ford)

Bangladesh youth league
This group works with the Bangladeshi community to provide a bilingual advice and translation service. The project also works with young people and helps them to improve their IT skills. For more information, please call:

Bangladeshi youth movement
This group provides social education, employment and training, women’s activities and an advice service on, for example, welfare rights, housing and nationality. For more information, please call:

Brick lane youth development association
This association runs projects for young people aged from 9 to 25 years old who live in the Spitalfields area. The projects include:
- A youth club
- A youth information shop which provides advice on, for example, drugs, health, training and job applications
- A community safety project which deals with youth crime, violence and other safety issues.

Caribbean African students project

Community families programme
This programme focuses on the brothers, sisters and parents of children who are aged between 5 and 13 years old and who are at risk of homelessness, poor academic achievement and job prospects, drug misuse, criminal activities, family conflict and mental health issues. Island neighbourhood project
This project is aimed primarily at Bengali, Somali, Kurdish and other black and minority ethnic men. The objective is to engage men in constructive activities or for them to participate in a forum that will help to reduce the risk of crime. For more information, please call:

Junior citizens scheme
This scheme teaches young people how to be good citizens. It consists of ten different safety scenarios performed by staff from public agencies. The pupils then deal with either life threatening or life saving situations where they have to respond to the problem realistically. For more information, please call:

The Poplar HARCA Burdett centre provides a range of services for young people in collaboration with Docklands outreach. These include:

Rapid response team
The rapid response system is operated in partnership by the police and the Youth support service to quickly respond to trouble created by youth gangs. The service also runs a street based intervention programme to reduce anti-social behaviour, youth conflicts and youth crime. Tower Hamlets summer university
The Tower Hamlets summer university runs over 120 free courses each summer including, academic and vocational study, performing and visual arts, music, sports, information technology, personal development, entertainment and peer volunteer initiatives. Tower Hamlets and city of London youth offending team
The Youth offending team is a multi-agency team which includes the police, the local authority social services, education and youth service teams and probation and health services. The team works with young people from when they are arrested up to when they are sentenced. The Youth offending team provides services to the youth court, works with young people who have been given final warnings by the police and young people who have been given community sentences. The team also organises diversions and activities to prevent young people from entering the criminal justice system. For more information, please call:
