Consultation on the draft Bromley-by-Bow land use & design brief
The London Borough of Tower Hamlets in partnership with the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, has prepared the draft Bromley- by-Bow Land Use and Design Brief.
The draft brief builds on the Mayor of London's, and the council's objectives for the comprehensive physical and economic transformation of the Bromley- by-Bow area. Once approved the document will form part of the council's Interim Planning Guidance and will provide landowners, developers and the wider community with clear guidance on the requirements for new development in the area.
The draft brief provides more detailed development principles for the creation of a new community hub at Bromley- by-Bow which will provide new;
- Shopping and community facilities and a new primary school.
- Homes, including affordable and family homes
- Open space, and
- Employment opportunities for local people
The council is consulting the public on the draft brief and other supporting documents for 12 weeks from Monday 18 August 2008 to Monday 10 November 2008.

In addition, there will be two community drop-in sessions, designed to give the public a chance to comment directly on the key principles.
These sessions will be held at the Bromley-by-Bow Centre, St Leonards Street, London, E3 3BT on:
- Tuesday 16 September 2pm - 8pm, and
- Tuesday 23 September 2pm - 8pm
Both sessions will cover the same issues and are open to anyone wishing to take part. If you are unable to attend on the consultation days, you will still be able to provide us with comments, either write or email by 5pm 10 Monday November 2008 to the following address:

The views we collect during this consultation period, will be reviewed and considered when developing the final brief, which if approved will have the status of Interim Planning Guidance in 2009.
