Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

Earlier this year work began to update previous guidance on Planning Obligations.

The aim of the Planning Obligations SPD is to:

1. explain the Council’s approach to planning obligations;
2. improve transparency in the priority and calculation of planning obligations; and
3. provide applicants with certainty on when planning obligations will be sought.

The document will also inform local residents about planning obligations.

Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Scoping Report

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has appointed WSP Environmental Consultants to undertake a joint Strategic Environmental Assessment and Sustainability Appraisal for the Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document.  As part of the initial evidence gathering stage, WSP Environmental Consultants have produced a Scoping Report which seeks to set the context, objectives, baseline and scope of the Sustainability Appraisal.
