Unitary Development Plan 1998
The Tower Hamlets Unitary Development Plan (UDP) 1998 is the adopted plan which provides the basis for planning decisions in the borough. This, along with the Mayor’s London Plan, makes up the Tower Hamlets Development Plan.
The policies named in the Direction on Saving UDP have been ‘saved’. All other UDP policies have been deleted and will not be considered in planning decisions.
The planning policies in the UDP are currently being reviewed. The UDP will be replaced by the new plans in the Local Development Framework when adopted over the coming years.
