Statement of accounts 2003-2004

The Authority’s accounts for the financial year ended 31st March 2004 are set out in the below PDFs which consist of:

• Foreword and statement of accounts part 1 (875kb) & part 2 (611kb)
  This report includes the foreword of the Director of Resources and a statement by the Chief Executive.
• Consolidated revenue account (210kb)
  This reports the cost for the year of providing those services for which the Authority is responsible and shows how such costs were financed from the Collection Fund, Central Government and from charges levied by the Authority.
• Housing revenue account (102kb)
  This reflects a statutory obligation to account separately for the provision of all types of Council housing. It shows the major elements of housing revenue expenditure - management, maintenance, rent rebates and capital financing costs - and how these are met by rents, Central Government subsidy and other income.
• Collection fund (59kb)
  This account shows the income received from Council Tax and Business Ratepayers and how it is distributed between the Authority and its preceptor, the Greater London Authority.
• Consolidated balance sheet part 1 (101kb) and part 2 (276kb)
  This is fundamental to the understanding of the Authority’s financial position as at 31st March 2004. It shows the balances and reserves available to the Authority, its long-term indebtedness, net current assets employed in operational activities and summarised information about fixed assets held.
• Statement of total movements in reserves (59kb)
  This summarises all recognised gains and losses during the year.
• Cash flow statement (61kb)
  This summarises the inflows and outflows of cash arising from transactions with third parties during the year.
• Pension fund accounts (501kb)
  These show the financial position of the Authority’s Pension Fund at the year-end.
