Youth participation strategy for young people in Tower Hamlets
What is a youth participation strategy?
Sometimes decisions are made that affect young people, yet young people do not have a say. Young people are constantly asked to give their views on a variety of issues, yet they do not know if their views are acted on.
This youth participation strategy provides a way for all young people in Tower Hamlets to have a voice and to be heard by key decision makers. It also provides a way of making sure that young people can monitor whether their voice is being acted upon or not.
All services and government departments are being encouraged to seek the views of young people. This strategy will help co-ordinate participation in a more manageable way.
The vision for youth participation in Tower Hamlets
is to ensure that:
- The voice of young people is heard
- Young people help shape their services
- Service providers will be able to listen to young people in a
co-ordinated way - Young people will be able to evaluate and monitor service delivery
