Legal advice

Tower Hamlets offers a range of legal advice and information to residents, from legal aid and debt counselling to witness support and child protection orders.

Legal aid

Free legal advice may be obtained from solicitors under our advice and assistance scheme.  If you are on a low income Legal Aid may pay for your solicitor.

Witness and victim support

The council’s team liaises closely with other key services and encourages witnesses to go to court. If a witness feels vulnerable, fears reprisals and is at risk, then the team will provide them with both moral and physical support.
