Deaths, funerals & cremations
It is a time of great sadness and grieving when someone you know
passes away. It is also a time when there are a number of steps
that need to be taken. Tower Hamlets Council offers support in
dealing with the practical and emotional issues of death and
bereavement.
Death
registering
A death should be should be registered within
five days in the registration district where it took place. Upon
receipt of all required information a death certificate is issued
by the registrar.
Buying a grave
As there are no burial facilities within the
borough, Tower Hamlets council has launched an innovative burial
subsidy scheme, which will contribute towards the burial expenses
of the borough’s residents.
