Emergencies
As a local authority it is our role to support the emergency
services in the case of an emergency. We are on call 24 hours and
are here to support the community in every way we can. Find out
about how we respond to emergencies such as flooding, major
accident hazards, gas leaks and hazardous chemical incidents.
Civil emergency plan
The Civil Protection Section deals are
responsible for assessing foreseeable risks in the borough and
preparing and exercising response plans during major
emergencies.
Flooding
The Environment Agency operates a flood
warning system, providing information to the public, media,
emergency services and local authorities.
Business continuity
The council can help you implement a business continuity plan
and deal with problems that effect the safety of your business.
Evacuation
You may have to evacuate your home for a variety of reasons. It
may be a good idea to help you and your family by taking a few
simple precautions.

The council provides general information,
advice and links on hazardous chemicals and emergency procedures
for incidents involving hazardous chemicals.

Tower Watch is a user
friendly, warning and informing system with real-time information
on incidents and other events affecting the London Borough of Tower
Hamlets and its residents.
Tower Watch is updated with information by the London Borough of
Tower Hamlets and the Metropolitan Police on incidents and other
events that may occur in your area that could affect your daily
routine.
