Cooling tower notification
All premises where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are situated must first register with the local authority under The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations, 1992.
The purpose of this is to identify processes that could encourage the spread of infectious disease (for example legionella), and to ensure that adequate measures are taken to prevent the infection from spreading amongst employees and the public.
Copies of The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations, 1992 can be obtained from the Office of Public Sector Information. A copy can also be inspected at the council offices where you can obtain an application form and further help or advice.
You can also download a copy of the application form or apple online through the Businesslink website.
You will be contacted in writing on receipt of the form. For more information email email@example.com.
