Beware of scammers

We are aware of an online scam going around on social media.

It claims to be able to make your housing application a priority and give you the right to buy after 3 years.

We only ever allocate homes according to our policy. Every application goes through a series of checks to make sure it is valid and correctly prioritised.

Housing choice Estate Transfer Documents

During the Housing Choice program some council housing tenants voted to transfer the ownership of their estates to Housing Associations. A total of eighteen estates were transferred to eight partner Housing Associations.

These transfers ensured that all tenants and leaseholders could benefit from increased investment in their estates, which included the delivery of the Decent Homes Standard for tenants. These transfers also unlocked funding to help deliver new affordable homes for residents on the borough’s housing waiting list.

For each of the transferred estates the council and the housing association signed agreements outlining the terms and conditions of the transfer.

Please click on the estate name below to see a copy of these agreements.
