Training
Whilst not compulsory, all governors are encouraged to undertake
training to improve their effectiveness in the role and to keep
abreast of all developments.
These courses are free to individual governors, the governing
bodies pay any costs incurred for training out of the appropriate
school budget.
In addition to the individual training courses Tower Hamlets
governor services can arrange specific training just for your
governing body, usually held at your school. These courses can be
tailored to meet the specific training and development needs. Some
governing bodies choose to nominate a "link governor" who has
overall responsibility for ensuring that individual governors
training needs are identified and addressed.
