In-year admissions
Most school admissions take place when children start reception
class or when they transfer from primary to secondary school at the
age of 11. In-year admissions are those that take place outside of
these times. These include admissions for children who have
recently moved to the area and do not have a school
place.
In-year common application form
Applications for in-year admission must be made through the
Pupil Admissions Team. If you would like to make an in-year
application, you will need to complete the relevant in-year common
application form. There are separate application forms for
primary
schools (pdf, 625 kb) and secondary
schools (pdf, 875 kb).
Alternatively, you can obtain the form from the Pupil Admissions
Team on 020 7364 5006 or email school.admissions@towerhamlets.gov.uk
The form is also available from every primary and secondary
school.
If you are applying to an academy, free school
or voluntary-aided school, which will have its own
admissions policy (Church of England or Roman Catholic), you will
need to complete the school's own supplementary information
form. This can be obtained from the school and must be
returned to the school. You may also need to provide a
baptism certificate or priest's reference. Further
information is available from the schools themselves.
Please note: If you are applying for a school transfer,
this will only take place at the beginning of a school term or half
term. The term dates and the closing dates for receiving
these applications can be found in the In Year
Admission Leaflet(pdf 70kb). It is also available on
request from the Pupil Admissions Team.
