First Response Team
The First Response team in social care is
the first point of contact for all customers of Adult Services that
are 18 years and over.
Opening hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to
Friday.
Contact can be made via telephone, email, fax,
in writing, or you can fill out our contact
referral form (word 51k).
Our role is to efficiently and effectively
respond to everyone who contacts us requesting information,
advice or support from adult social care teams.
Where appropriate, adult social care uses the
Fair Access to Care guidance regarding the type and amount
of support people can get.

Taking into account customers individual
needs, we endeavour to assist with enquiries by giving information
and general advice on other council services. If needed we will
direct customers to the appropriate department or organisation and
provide a "First Response" to people's needs.
The First Response Team also take payments for
Meals on Wheels via a debit or credit card.

Out of hours social services support
The social care team is the initial point of contact for members
of the public and for professional bodies needing to access social
services.
The team can inform you about the range of services provided by
the council. It can also advise you on how to get help if the
council does not provide the specific service you require.
You may not be aware that there is help available for you if you
are a carer, or if you need assistance in being mobile or doing
things around the house.
