How to get support
If you or someone you know might need some support now or in the
near future, you should find out about the care and support
available in your local area.
The best place to start looking for care and support is on the
internet, where you will find a directory of care and support
services called the community catalogue.
The community catalogue provides an easy way to find out about
different organisations and services in your area, which offer many
kinds of support to help you get the most out of life. Visit:
www.towerhamlets.gov.uk/communitycatalogue
All Idea Stores and libraries in Tower Hamlets have computers
that you can use for free internet access and the staff in the Idea
Stores can help you find the community catalogue.
If you cannot access the internet, or would prefer to talk to
someone over the phone, you can call the council’s First Response
Team on 020 7364 5005.
Our First Response Service can tell you about your options and
the support available in your local community, and we can also
explain how to use the community catalogue, so you can find the
information and services that are right for you.
For example, we can print information from the community
catalogue and send it to you by post. Friends and family might also
be able to help you look at the community catalogue. Your friends
and family will also find useful information about helping to care
and support you.
