Meals on wheels
We provide a year round lunchtime “meals into
the home” service for vulnerable residents who have been referred
to us by our social care team.
Provision of the service is dependent on
meeting eligibility criteria, which will be determined through a
community care assessment.
- We ensure that clients can choose from an exciting range of
dishes on our extensive menus and that meals are prepared to meet
their needs.
- We use professional dieticians to assist in careful planning of
our meals. Our goal is to bring a smile to each client’s face with
a meal that tastes good, looks pleasing and meets cultural and
special health needs.
- We deliver companionship to people who might not see another
person all day, as well as helping to support independent
living.
- We aim to give users the peace of mind that they will receive a
healthy balanced meal at least once a day.
- We offer a choice of frozen meals to more able users of the
service.
- All our staff act professionally and deal with information
confidentially and sensitively. All staff carry photo ID
cards.
We have developed a number of different
payment methods to assist users, with special vouchers (from local
post offices), cheques or by phone using credit and debit
cards.
