Birth certificate amendments
Re-registration of a birth may be required if there is a need to
change the details of the original registration because of a change
of circumstances. Corrections may be necessary if a mistake
was made on the original registration. Both are carried out
by the Register Office by appointment only.

Fees
There are no administrative fees for corrections and
re-registrations. However, if you would like to buy the
certificate once it has been corrected or re-registered, the fees
are as follows:
If in a current
register
If in a deposited register
- £7.00 per standard certificate,
- £5.50 per short certificate
An additional fee is not charged.
