Pollution control for air conditioning units

Air handling units within buildings may be linked to air conditioning systems. Some air conditioning systems, such as those which use evaporative cooling, may pose potential health risks if not properly maintained.

The message is therefore to make sure your air handling units are serviced at appropriate intervals, and follow the instructions by the supplier or manufacturer at all times.

If you have a cooling tower or an evaporative condenser within the air conditioning system, this plant should be registered with Health and Safety.
