Funeral waivers
How to qualify?
The deceased should have lived in the borough. You can be issued
up to a maximum of 26 waivers.
There is no charge for funeral waivers.
What proofs are required?
You do not need to provide any proofs to qualify for funeral
waivers, but if have one of the proofs listed below please bring it
along:
- Death certificate or;
- Proof of the deceased name and address

How and where to use a permit?
Parking in your zone
Providing the waiver is correctly displayed, you can park in any
zone all day, on-street in parking bays signed:
- Resident permit holders only
- Permit holders only
- Permit holders or pay at machine
Where a permit is not valid
Your waiver is not valid for parking in bays signed differently
to those above or off-street on estates. You should also make sure
you do not park in suspended bays regardless of whether or not the
reason for the suspension is apparent.
Parking controls
Parking controls vary from mini-zone to mini-zone. Although the
normal hours are from 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. You should
also be aware that in some mini-zones these hours are extended.
If you park without a valid parking permit during controlled
hours, or in a suspended bay, you may be issued with a Penalty
Charge and your vehicle may be removed.
How and where can I apply?
All new applications must be made in person.
If you wish to pay by debit or credit card you can visit your
local One Stop Shop.

all methods of payment (except American Express or Diners Club
cards).
The Cashiers is open Monday to Friday from 9am – 4.30pm
Permit fraud
Tower Hamlets Council wishes to prevent fraudulent applications.
