FREE parking boost for borough

Tower Hamlets Council has given a massive boost for businesses and shoppers in the borough – by introducing free parking over the weekends.

As part of the council plans to reinvigorate the borough during the recession, people are able to park free for two hours on Saturdays and Sundays around markets and shopping hubs.

The free parking started in April 2009 and shoppers are able to take their two free hours during the controlled hours in marked bays where parking is usually paid for.

The free parking places are around areas such as Columbia Road, Chrisp Street, Roman Road, Brick Lane and many more.
