Suspensions
For a fixed pre-paid fee parking services can
arrange for parking bays to be suspended. Suspension is mainly for
major construction, building, road works, filming, access and
public safety.
A limited suspension service is also available
to residents for special circumstances such as moving house.
Residents can request for three car spaces per day free of
charge.
We require a minimum of five working days to
accommodate a bay suspension. This is in order to give residents
enough notice to make alternative arrangements.
We however need up to ten days notice for a
long term suspension (i.e. suspension that will last longer than
two weeks or where more than ten car spaces (60 metres) is
involved. This is required to allow for a 'site visit' before
approval.
The terms and conditions for suspensions are
as follows:
- Generally no more than 10 car spaces will be approved per day
for a suspension.
- Although the Council will erect appropriate suspension signs,
no guarantee can be given that the site will be clear of illegally
parked vehicles.
- Domestic removals are allowed three car spaces for a day
without charge.
- Please wait for an invoice to be forwarded prior to payment.
(Suspension charges are not negotiable).
- Suspension of bays is not for private vehicle parking under any
circumstances. All unauthorised vehicles will be removed.
- Private vehicle parking refers to all vehicles not registered
for commercial use or not actively in use for construction or
filming purposes or any activity for which the bay has been
suspended.
