Site inspections
There are certain stages of building work where you are required
to notify the building control service so that a site inspection
can be arranged. The timing of site visits is important because in
some cases once a stage of work is complete it cannot be viewed
(e.g. excavations for foundations).
Additional inspections will also be carried out if requested or
if it is deemed necessary by a building control officer.
The council will generally be able to respond on the same day if
a site visit is requested before 10am.
If you made a building regulations application by way of the
full plans procedure then when the commencement site inspection is
carried out the inspection fee becomes due, for all other
applications the inspection fee is already covered in the
application charge.
For information on fees and charges please refer to our
fees & charges section.
