The LANTAC scheme
This scheme utilises an agreement made between local authorities
in a consortium to accept designs for buildings or building
components that have already been formally approved by any other
local authority who participates in the scheme.
In this way a developer can submit a design for formal approval
to any authority participating in the scheme. Once that design has
been approved any authority in the consortium will accept it
without further checks. Although application procedures are
unchanged the developer benefits by knowing in advance that his
proposals will be approved and the application process is usually
quicker.
