Recycling and education for schools
Recycling in schools
Recycling at schools is easy and encourages
children to take an interest in the environment in a ‘hands on’
way.
You can recycle all of the following materials
in the recycling containers we provide for schools:
- Mixed glass bottles and jars
- Food and drink cans
- Plastic bottles (no other types of plastic
please, only bottles)
- Mixed card
- Mixed paper
- Food and drink cartons
- Aerosols
- Telephone directories
The materials can all be mixed together as
they are sorted out after collection at a materials recovery
facility (read more about this in frequently asked questions).
We can also provide a separate container to
collect food waste for composting.
Education support
Learning about recycling and waste reduction
in schools is a great way for children to become involved in
improving our environment.
We offer a wide range of fun educational
activities for schools that enhance the national curriculum and
help schools to become more sustainable.
If you are a teacher and would like to book a
visit or discuss how we might support your school please contact
us.
