Cycling is an efficient, cheap, healthy, non-polluting mode of
transport. The council wishes to encourage cycling to help improve
mobility, reduce traffic congestion and improve health in the

Free family cycle training is
available during the 2015 Easter holidays, from Monday,
March 30 to Thursday, April 2 from 10am-12 noon in Victoria Park.

Work has now commenced on the Cycle Superhighway2
(CS2) upgrade between Bow and Aldgate. Upon completion, the
cycle route will be segregated for most of the way. The first phase
of the work is taking place along Mile End Road and Bow Road
between Harford Street and Harley Grove, and Whitechapel Road
between Commercial Road and Cambridge Heath Road. For further
