Land & property availability

The council currently does not provide information about land and property availability in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

However, we are the process of gathering information to estimate the development capacity for the Isle of Dogs, City Fringe and Leaside in ‘area action frameworks’, which are being prepared as part of the review of the council’s Unitary Development Plan (UDP).

Non-council resources

The following resources are available to find out specific, detailed land and property information.

• The national land use database (NLUD) enables you to find out what a particular piece of land is being used for.
• The housing capacity study on the Mayor of London website sets out the initial findings from the housing provision survey for 2002 and 2003. This Greater London Authority (GLA) study, to be completed in mid 2005, will help to identify how much new housing can be accommodated within Tower Hamlets.
