Local land charges: personal search
Please note that from 1st April
2011 our search fees are changing.
A personal search is an inspection of the
local land charges register. It can be carried out by anyone upon
payment of a fee. Please note that a personal search does not
provide all the information given on a full LLC 1 and Con 29R
search.
The local land charges register is available
to persons wishing to carry out a personal search between 9am to
4pm Monday to Friday by booking 24 hours in advance.
Register only
There are no fees required to
view the register but we will charge for some individual
units of the CON29R (pdf 35k). Searchers can look up the
planning register and request information of council maintained
roads from the highways department.
Full search
The cost of a full search is currently £110.
The searcher is entitled to replies from all the departments based
on the CON 29R Part One standard enquiries. All requests
must be declared at the time of booking with the Call Centre -
please state full or register only search and/or search
questions.
It is the responsibility of the person
carrying out the personal search to identify the land/property and
make notes of any information held on the register. The
council does not have an obligation to answer any supplementary or
additional enquiries when a person is making a personal search.
