Community Sport and Physical Activity Network
(CSPAN)
A Community Sport and Physical Activity Network (CSPAN) is a
network of local deliverers from a range of organisations and
agencies all with a contribution to make to the delivery of sport
and active recreation.
Amongst others, these deliverers may include
the Council Sports and Physical Activity Team, the Primary Care
Trust, the Borough Sports Council, professional sports
organisations, Leisure Providers (such as GLL) and representatives
from local sports clubs or housing associations.
The group are responsible for identifying
local priorities and appropriate initiatives to increase the number
of residents taking part in their area.
