Disability Law Service
Disability Law Service (DLS) is run by and for disabled people
as an independent, national registered charity. Disabled people and
their families, carers and advocates, are all welcome to get in
touch with their helpline for advice.
DLS provide expert legal advice and
representation to disabled people and their families in the areas
of Welfare Benefits and Community Care, Discrimination in
Employment, Access to Goods and Services, the Disability Equality
Duty and further and higher education. The service employs lawyers
and provides telephone advice and information as well as casework
including representation in courts and tribunals.
This organisation is particularly interested
to work with people with learning difficulties, mental health
issues, carers, young people and people from black and minority
ethnic groups. They also help people with direct payments and
