Cooling tower notification
All premises where cooling towers and evaporative condensers are
situated must first register with the local authority under The
Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers
Regulations, 1992.
The purpose of this is to identify processes that could
encourage the spread of infectious disease (for
example legionella), and to ensure that adequate measures are
taken to prevent the infection from spreading amongst employees and
the public.
